This past week was a busy one for me. I had to work 2 nights of the week and had plans with friends a few nights too. So that means that Julian has been super Dad, taking care of Jillian a lot by himself.
Jillian is in a fun, but difficult, stage right now. She is learning so much everyday and it is a lot of fun to watch her learn and grow. But she is also right on the cusp of the terrible 2s and *sometimes* she is a little...well...terrible!
So couple a smart, but fussy, Jilly Bear with a hard-working (read overworked) Daddy and I may or may not have gotten lots of calls during the nights that Julian has had Jillian. The calls are usually about "where is this (insert item that Jillian absolutely MUST have right now!?" or "babe, she isn't eating...now what do I do?!?!" On Wednesday night, as I was wrapping up work, I got my 452869276 call of the night (ok, it was only the 3rd call, but still)...
Me: Hello
Julian: Babe! I know I have called you a lot tonight and I am sorry, but I just had to tell you that Jillian just made my life! We are watching the Yankees game and Jillian saw the Yankees logo on TV and she said "Go Yankees!" And then she pointed down to her Yankees shirt and she said that it matched the Yankees logo on TV and she said "Match...my Yankees...go Yankees!"
Me: That's awesome, babe! I am glad to hear that you and Jillian are having a good time together!
Julian: Seriously, babe, this is the highlight of my life! My little girl loves the Yankees as much as I do!
I seriously thought he was on the verge of tears!
Glad the Yankees swept the Red Sox to end the season |
Go Yankees! |
Looks like we brainwashed her well!!! Needless to say, that's the night that the Yankees clinched the AL East and it was a happy day in our house! We love playoff baseball and are looking forward to watching the Yankees play October baseball, and hopefully, November baseball too!!!
